    Hello everyone,

An update on my parents case. Both were approved earlier this week. No interview was needed!
The cards have been mailed out today.

FYI, This was from the Boston field office.

Thanks to everyone who responded to this thread.

Any updated timelines for covid times for parents. They are desperately waiting to travel back

      Applied Aug 2020
      Fingerprint 21st Jan 2021
      Ead approved March 29

Any idea when they can receive GC?

Thanks for your help. I live in Massachusetts will I get it from Boston field office?

Hi, my case was also out of NBC then to Boston field office. I’m the beneficiary. Application was Dec 2019, I received my green card in August 2020, so 8 months duration in Covid times. I had a couple RFEs plus the medical deficiency one. Your parents timing seems long. Over 1 year between application and fingerprints and another 1plus year between fingerprints and EAD. I wouldn’t have thought that much time to elapse. I wonder if you should follow up with USCIS

Applied October 10th for both parents AOS.
First finger prints November 11 for both
Second finger prints Dec 12 for both
No update that finger print review is complete...
Received notification Jan 30th that EAD approved for both
Received notification Jan 31st that AP approved for both
Received notification Jan 31st that my father's I-485 is approved!
Fathers green card in hand by Feb 7th,
                No word on my mom.
We are worried now why my mom's case is lagging behind. Anyone has experience with this where you file jointly for both and one gets approval and other is waiting. And how long the wait could possibly be. Any input would be great.
Any updates on your case. I am in the same boat.

I live in Atlanta and am working on filing green card for my parents. They are currently in India; have a valid visa to travel to the United States. Have a question regarding their birth certificates.

Since the parents were born before 1969, their birth certificates do not exist. Hence,
                  1) Can i file their Green Card application without the birth certificates?
                  2) Is the Date of Birth in the passport accepted by USCIS as a valid proof of Date of Birth?
                  3) Does USCIS approve Green Cards for parents without submitting their Birth Certificate?

My Birth Certificate exists. It was used at the time of processing my Green Card.
