485 processing

Could anybody please answer my question.
Say if I apply for 485 now (during PD current) and PD retrogresses after few months then will INS process my application.
I am in EB3.
Gurus please clarify this how this works.

Sincerely, only INS knows how such a case will be dealt. My best guess is, even if your PD is current on aparticular day, it may not guarantee that your application will start getting processed from that day. So if it starts processing later from that day and by that time, the PD has gone back(INS has time machine!!), your application may end up in the pending list.
