  • Second marriage

    Hello everyone,
Wondering if anyone has the same situation.
We were young and it was kinda spontaneous I got married to a USC but we got divorced after 11 months since we both knew that the spark was completely gone only a few months into the marriage. We got a divorce before I ever filled any docs for my status adjustments. While waiting for a divorce to be finalized I met my current bf online and we started talking and everything. Now we’ve been together for 9 months. He already is talking about marriage and stuffs so I’m wondering if 10 months - 1 year after the previous divorce is good enough time so that the officer won’t give us a hard time later?
And if later we said we met while my divorce wasn’t finalized, would that make our case look bad too?
    Thank you,
    J

I have 2 divorces, same situation....got married young(in 20's), first marriage barely lasted 6 months. Love happens, divorce happens, if you feel you ready for marriage go for it, as long as it's genuine marriage and not for papers, All will be alright. Goodluck and congrats on the new relationship????

I doubt it should be an issue, even though divorce wasn’t finalized as you said. You and your ex was separated. Just to be on the safe side if you have any bills or receipts or anything from the first marriage. Keep it safe as you might need to prove to uscis that your first marriage was indeed in good faith. Life happens, divorce happens... it’s just one of those things. Never lie or try to be sneaky if ever in the future you were asked any questions about th previous marriage. All the best and I hope all works out for you.

Thank you so much for your reply!!
He physically moved out a few days we filled the divorce papers. But we barely lived together before that due to constant conflicts...
I deleted all of our pictures and texts because I tend to do that after any of my relationships ended , only having a few because of they were from our friends, I can also obtain the bills and some other financial papers before our divorce. Would that be enough?
