  • No biometrics appointment letter

    Hi guys,

it’s been 43 days already since our case was received, but I still haven’t received biometrics appointment letter. Is that normal?
From what I learned everyone’s getting their letter within two weeks after NOA was received so I’m a bit worried if everything is OK.

My timeline: (our case is handled by our immigration attorney)
    11/25/19 package sent (i485, i130, i765, i131)
    11/27/19 delivered (Chicago)
    12/4/19 fingerprint fee received
    12/6/19 NOA hard copies received

Since than no update. (I’ve been checking case status every day)

I’m adjusting status from F1 (I had my fingerprints taken when I was applying for visa 2,5 years ago-if that matters). My husband is LPR.

    Thank you!

I have a priority date of October 7, 2019 and I still haven't received my biometrics (also F1). I would suggest you to call them sometime next week and raise a service request with them.

We applied 3 months ago and haven’t received ours either (husband is adjusting from O-1 status). The only thing I can possibly think of is that they already have what they need. I agree with Sohi429 and would call to inquire. We are calling tomorrow to speak to a Tier 2 for an update.

Yes I think this is normal. We also applied in Chicago. We refiled November 12th, USCIS received the documents December 19th, we received receipt notices Jan 2nd 2020 and Biometic appointment notice on Jan 11th. So it took 2 months to get an BIOMETRIC appointment date. The first time we filed it only took 3 weeks to get the biometric appointment date. So I guess it varies.

I don't think this is normal because it just took 3 weeks (and this period includes holidays) for you. You should only consider your case timeline from the date USCIS received the documents (Dec 19 in your case).
