NO. They can sent you even after 6 months and you cannot do anything.

Nope. I am seeing movement for some other months so we should hear something this month or next month.

I received a status update about I765 saying they ordered my new card and they will mail it to my address.

I logged in today to see if there was any movement in getting my interview scheduled (yeah right) only to discover my EAD was issued today. Very surprised and happy, especially since my lawyer told me that here in San Diego he's seen a lot of people get their card approved before their EAD. Still no appointment scheduled but I don't care - now I can work again.
