  • Passport expiring in May

    Hi guys,

I need some advice. My case is ready to he scheduled for an interview. The thing is that my passport is expiring on May 6, 2020. I don't know what to do. Should I wait till interview which no one knows when will take place, or go ahead and renew my passport? It will take 45 days for the new passport to be made.

What if they schedule the interview while the new passport is in the process?

I don't know what to do. Please help

If a new application is submitted, you do not leave a old passport.
When the new passport is ready, the old passport is punched at the Embassy.

Do your consulate/embassy keep the old passport and send both when the new one is ready?

The problem I see with the 45 days, is that they schedule the interview tomorrow must likely it will be less than 45 days. Do you need a new/unexpired passport for your interview?

Your passport is not entirely needed during an interview unless it is the only valid ID you have. A valid ID is needed to enter the building and I believe will asked of you just before the interview begins. In that case go ahead and submit your new passport application and request an express service.

        All the best.
