Got RFE on I-1485.I see two possible reasons for RFE.Can you please weigh in.?

Got RFE on I-485.
I am a July 6th,2019 filer.
Married to LPR.
Local Office : Michigan.
Have approved 1-130.

Michigan is usually quick in terms of scheduling interview and i was wondering why there is no update in my case.
Anyway got an update for RFE today.

Possible reasons for RFE:

1. I was on F1 OPT while i applied AOS on July ,2019.I changed to H-1B work visa on October 1st.Not sure if there is any confusion in there and that may be the reason for RFE.
2. My wife is the petitioner and she is unemployed ,but i work and earn 70K + ,so in I-864 i have my financial info/W2/Tax Returns included and we are showing that household income(we live together) is above the limit required.

May I know what exactly requirements are on the RFE?

I think you should provide both, and have a cover letter to explain your case and each of evidence you have.

Another possibility is that they may want proof of citizenship for your wife.
I know she is LPR but I have seen a few cases when they send RFE for citizenship. Good luck.

I am still waiting for the actual RFE by mail.I know that there is no point in speculating.I just have these two reason to think of.

US Birth certificate work as proof of citizenship?

Trini0616 :Since my wife is LPR and not a US citizen, i can't prove that she is a USC.I just have convince them that she is an LPR not a USC.
Am i correct?Is that what you did ?

cruze_110 Did you file concurrently? I-130 and I-485 at the same time? If yes, inbox me and I'll send you a copy of my RFIE response cover letter.

There are quite a few of us F2A concurrent filers that got the same stupid RFIE. A couple of us did independent research and found they send the same dumb RFIE to concurrent F2A filers every time the visa bulletin is current. So we all gave basically the same response. None of our cases has progressed past receipt of the response to the RFIE yet though, we're still waiting to see what happens next.

Well since you didn't file concurrently under the F2A it's not likely to be for proof of citizenship then. I haven't seen that happen to anyone else, but who knows with USCIS. Update us when your notice arrives in the mail.
