  • I-131** Who has successfully used this?

My husband's job requires him to leave the country but he has a pending I-485 that we do not want to mess up. Has anyone used their approved ADP and was able to be admitted back in the country without any issues? I read all the information on it and it does state it does not automatically grant admission back to the country, but we are becoming more desperate and is considering applying for the ADP.

Also, with a pending I-485 would we still have to pay another fee for the I-131 application?

8/29/2019: received rejected form I-485 due to bounced check
9/11/2019: mailed new I-485 with new check and I-765
    10/22/2019: biometrics complete
    11/22/2019: ready to schedule interview

I found the answer to whether a fee is needed with a pending I-485 and the answer is no.
Now, if anyone would like to share their experience with using the ADP, i would really appreciate it.

All the posts I read about AP and enter the USA are the same: need to go to secondary inspection and all have entered the USA, even people that overstayed for many years.

My wife and I just returned from China to NYC on 01/31/2020. All they did after confirming who we were, was have an officer escort her somewhere else for them to review her documents.

I wasn't with her as I went get the luggage, though it only took 5-10 minutes.

I have used AP twice traveling overseas !
I also was concerned about getting back into the country because i overstayed.
but everything went smooth I had only to go to a secondary inspection and not bad I waited like 10 min for my passport .

Same experience. They don’t have the right stamp with them when you talk to the officer so they have to send you for a “secondary inspection” but honestly no one there even looked at my paperwork. He just told them to give me the right stamp and that was it.
asked me where i was going, i said home and he said welcome home. I did over stay by like 2.5 years.
it has no effect on your entry. You would have to be inadmissible for them to deny your/your husbands entry. Which is like terrorist activity, some cult crap, drugs, etc... nothing that a regular human being does haha.

There's absolutely NO REASON why you should be scared to travel on Advance parole, it's been given and approved for a reason. Of course, as long as he doesn't have any criminal backgrounds since the AP was issued or any warrants and what not. People are often scared of traveling on AP, YOU WILL BE JUST FINE. Like many others have said, more likely he'll go to secondary because the passport doesn't have a stamp. Just tell him to have his passport and AP card ready to hand it to the FIRST officer after getting off the plane and everything should be just fine after that.

My husband has a work related event that he has to use the AP to travel on being it is international travel and for a little peace of mind, I plan on accompanying him.

Now when we’re coming back since as I’m the USC, does he come with me to my line or do I go with him to his line or do we enter through separate lines?

When arriving to the US you both go to the US citizens line. And tell the officer you both traveling together .
that’s what I did when I traveled with AP my husband was with me .
