  • Removal of “DHS AUTHORIZATION” from Social Security Card

Has anyone gone through the removal of the “DHS AUTHORIZATION” conditional status from their social security cards?

How is it like?Any tips in doing so?

Do I have to surrender my current social security card when I apply for the permanent one?

How much of a hassle is the removal process, if it is?

Any tips/feedback will be much appreciated.

You don't have to give them your old card, just take your green card to Social Security Office and update your status with them.
You will receive your new one by mail within 2weeks.
    It's a very simple procedure.

When I went, the lady asked for my old social card, then she just cut it in half. Got my new social card in a week.
