  • GC Interview coming up and wrongly ticked 'no' on i-485?

My green card interview is coming up in about a week and i realised that i ticked 'no' for the question asking about working without work authorisation, when in fact i should have answered yes. There was a one month overlap between submitting my AOS where i was continuing to work in the same job from my j-1 visa (submitted june, j-1 expired in may), and i was continued to work until my ead was received in January. I fully intend to disclose this to the immigration officer as i now understand it is forgiven in my AOS case (marriage to US citizen), however am wondering how i should go about this? I am expecting the officer to go through all the yes/no questions, should i just explain that i will need to change my answer/print out a new amended page to bring to the interview?

Thanks for any advice... such a stressful time!

Yes, bring up the fact that the answer is incorrect voluntarily. When you say the "j-1 expired", do you mean your J-1 program on the DS-2019 ended then? Why did the employer continue to let you work?

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Yes my j-1 program was only for a year, the end date was listed on the DS-2019, but for some reason my manager never asked any questions about it and seemed to be under the impression that as soon as i was married, i could continue to work - clearly not the case!
