https://www.uscis.gov/i-944 is now required with I-485, starting tomorrow. I guess there will be a lot of rejections from people sending the package without this form or with the old I-485 edition.

Hi, Here's my timeline. I'm married to a US citizen. We've been married for 7 years and we have a daughter.
I filed in Chicago.
Applications I-485, I-131 and I-765 mailed on 02/07. Received on 02/08.
Notice of action received on 02/14.
Biometric Appointment scheduled for 03/06

USCIS Chicago Lockbox received mine last February 17, 2020. No replies since and money order has not been cashed yet.


Wife and I married October 10, 2018. Filed only for I-130, as we didn’t know we could file concurrently. So we hired a lawyer. I-130 approved after 8 months. After 7 months, we sent I-485 and the other forms.

The reason being is because there were a lot of lapses along the way and it was hard to find a joint sponsor in the family. Hopefully, mine will be good this year. Wife and I have been waiting for so long.

Hi,

I filed my AOS ON FEBRUARY 24, 2020 with Old edition forms (I-485) and my package is also missing the additional I-944 form. I am sure its going to be rejected but does anyone have any idea if they will send me the entire application back? or just deny it? I tried talking to a USCIS representative but they weren't able to help much because I don't have a receipt number yet. I am afraid that I'll have to do all the paperwork all over again. Anyone on the same boat?

I sent all the documents with new edition but I forgot to send in form I-944. Is it possible that mine will be denied?

I am in exactly the same position. Downloaded all forms and had been completing them since mid-Feb. Sent everything in bar the I-944 (they gave only a few days of notice on the website).

Any advice? Should I send it in and ask them to connect it to our application?

We don't know how USCIS will respond to this new requirement. I hope you get an RFE and not a rejection.

I called USCIS today regarding my case. They said that they would either send RFE or a rejected notice, so I can re-submit it. There will be no denial.

Thanks for letting me know about this. I'm going to call them tomorrow as well and we'll see what I hear about it too (I'll post).
