Yesterday, my wife received an RFIE for a long-form birth certificate, including any necessary translation. Like many other people who's experiences I've read about on here, we already sent both of these documents (the French "copie integral de l'acte de naissance" copy of her birth certificate and a certified translation) with the I-485 application. Based on what I've read, it seems like this is probably an error on USCIS's part, and we should resend both, along with a cover letter explaining why everything that is needed is there. My question is: how many people have taken this same approach (resent what was already sent), and either 1) had their case resume successfully, no further questions asked; or 2) received an additional RFIE or had their case denied? Thank you so much - we are quite anxious over here.

As a follow-up, I just went back and looked at her birth certificate and realized that it does not say the word "France" anywhere on the document. It says the city, and the department (kind of like the state), but not France. I'm wondering if this is the problem. If so, would you recommend noting this fact in the cover letter, and then including another copy of her passport page, showing that her place of birth is France? Thank you all!

Hi, the exact working was "Submit a copy of the birth certificate or other primary bird record issued by the appropriate civil autohrity for the applicant. USCIS will only accept a long-form birth certificate which lists at least one parent." The birth certificate we submitted listed both parents.
