  • one year after Green card interview

Hi everyone, I have been an avid silent reader of the site for the past 2 years+ and I finally have the courage to post my own experience and I would really appreciate if anyone could advice or share their own experiences
I moved to America in 2017 with B1/B2 I wasn't planning on staying but after being here for a couple of month I decided to stay with my son, so I was terminated from my job bcos of no show bt that’s ok as I am happy here trying to leave the American dream .........
i met my husband at the end of 2017, we got married 2018, we submitted our GC application aug of 2018 we (myself and son) got our first EAD in Feb of 2019 and interview in march 2019. i have been married before, got divorced before i moved here and i have a son (from another relationship) who is now 4yrs living with me and my husband.
we had our interview in OKC the lady who interviewed us was really unfriendly i felt like she had it for me and my husband from the beginning of the interview it was a Monday and probably one of the worse days of my life i was really nervous since i moved here people have been really nice, so to meet someone who isn't friendly got me more nervous (i understand she’s just doing her job so i don’t blame her at all
during the interview we missed about 3 questions in total and because we were poor, newly married we didn't have lots of documents like car insurance health, insurance and lots of joint documents
but i had lots and lots of pictures lol i love pictures and we also had a lease with my name (my husband name couldn't be on the lease because of his past records) we had some utility bills text messages of our conversations and a letter from my best friend, my husband works in another city about 1hr away from where we stayed and when I moved here I was staying in one the rooms in my friend’s house so my husband is usually not around on weeks days but he comes home almost every weekend (the reason is because he's been having issues getting jobs here so he had to keep the one he has which isn't paying well and the plan is once i get a job we would get our own place and leave happily ever after...
long story short we had a stoke interview immediately after our initial interview. we were very honest with all our answer in the stoke interview, we were separated one questions that got me really nervous and i missed was when she asked if we use protection when we are intimate I asked her to explain better she said do i use pills so I don’t get pregnant, we don’t want another kid now and im not using any contraceptive.my husband said he uses protections (condom) we went with our immigration lawyer who has been nothing but helpful (before you ask how we could afford the lawyer we haven't finished paying him lol) i didn't know they would ask us questions like that and i was really naive because i thought oh she would see the love we have for each other but i was really nervous that day, the lady wasn’t helping and she also made a statement like why is someone who hasn’t gotten even a speed ticket get married with a trouble maker.. but my husband is a changed man he was young and stupid but now he’s gown and a good man!
any ways after our interview she told us she wanted to review our case this, I went home and cried my eyes out because I really trusted God I asked my church to pray and I fasted but God knows best. My lawyer said we did good and the biggest question we missed was the one I just mentioned but I shouldn’t worry! This was more than 11 months ago in a week it will be exactly a year since the interview
Timeline: married 03/2018, filed GC EAD 09/2018, received 1st ead combo card 02/19 interview 03/04/19, 2nd ead filed 08/27/19 received combo card 02/16/20
still no news on GC interview, in a week we would be celebrating our 2nd year wedding anniversary oh and I forget to the guy who was my sponsor got arrested for fraud! Now my question is what should I do! I have done tons of service request it says pending security checks and my lawyers says be patience I have a job now and we have a couple of joint documents…. Is anyone going thru similar experience? And I am worried maybe because of my husband past record or because of my sponsor who recently got arrested it may be affecting our care right now I don’t even know what to think to be honest

Let me tell you my situation, I and my wife married in Jan, 2018. We went to 2 interviews, each of them lasts only 20-25 mins for us. Our answers for both interviews were 99.9% identical and very detailed. We also have a newborn baby, a US citizen in October. We have joint bank account, health insurance, life insurance, bills, car payment, all together ect. I renewed EAD 2 times, AP 2 times, receiving 3-4 RFE, creating 8 inquiries. Congresswoman helped to create other 4 inquires. And I just got a 10 year GC 1 week ago after 2 years and 2 months waiting. U can see how strong evidences we have together but it still causes us 2 year waiting. In your case, all the facts you brought up are really against you. You should either change a new lawyer or collecting stronger evidences about your relationship. Also getting ready for the sponsorship RFE if they ask for.

My advice is just subjective. Do not listen if you feel comfortable and confident with all your submitted evidence
