Hello all,
I have my I485 interview scheduled on April 8, 2020.
In the forms, I filled out my mailing address to be in Columbus, Ohio. I physically live in Florida.
We wanted to keep our mailing address to be Columbus since my in-laws live there and it is a more permanent house. We need to move frequently for our jobs so we figured that keeping a permanent house mailing address makes sense.
The problem we have is that the interview is scheduled in Columbus. Ohio. According to the policy manual the interview needs to be in the jurisdiction pertaining to the physical address which in my case will be Florida.
Should we try to change our interview location to Florida or show up in Columbus and see what they say?
I am afraid that relocating will push back the interview date by a whole lot and make things unnecessarily delayed. However, we are worried that Columbus USCIS might not like the fact that we live physically out of their jurisdiction and that it will probably jeopardize the interview.
Has anyone been through similar situation or could advise on how should we broach this?
Thanks!
Shah
