  • What is the procedure to remove the conditional green card?

Guys, my green card is expiring in July and appreciate it if anyone can enlighten me on what are the procedures to renew and remove the conditional status of a green card.

What are the forms to fill-up and submit?
What are the documents to attach?
What are the fees to be paid?

My lawyer is charging me $1,500 (2 years ago she said $400) to file plus the fee to be paid to USCIS.

I appreciate your help guys. thanks a lot.

It’s form I-751. Please go to the USCIS website and look at the form and the instructions. It’s pretty straight forward. See if you still have any questions after you’ve gone over it.

A lot of people do it on their own. Lawyer fees are getting ridiculously high. https://www.uscis.gov/i-751
      Remember that:
You should apply during the 90 days before your second anniversary as a conditional resident. The expiration date on your Green Card is also the date of your second anniversary as a conditional resident. If you do not apply to remove the conditions in time, you could lose your conditional resident status and be removed from the country.
some people get the application rejected because they send the package on day 91 and not within the 90 days before, so be careful with that.
Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021
