Do you have USPS INFORMED DELIVERY for your mails? It’s been a long wait. Hopefully, we that applied on March 25, 2020 get that BIG smile ASAP!!????
Sitting home SUCKS!!! Especially for some of us who find ourselves in communities/Cities where we barely see people from our home country to associate with.

Hey guys, I have a concern and I’m worried. My passport expired earlier this month and the passport Department in my home country is closed indefinitely due to COVID-19. I do have a valid National ID and a Driver License from my country. I called USCIS and asked if I could use my National ID for biometric appointment if I’m scheduled, and the agent said “yes”. But I’m still uncertain because I understand that these agents are like customer service....sometimes they talked to you nicely because it’s part of their job....but they’re not the people you meet when you go to the ASC or Field Office. I stand to be corrected...

ANYONE WITH EXPERIENCE ABOUT EXPIRED PASSPORT???

    Hey there,

I don't think it will be a problem for your biometrics, don't worry, if I remember correctly it's written they ask for "National ID" in which passports are included, not sure about the Driver License though but your National ID is fine. Maybe even your passport can still be used especially if it just expired...

Don't worry too much, I know it's hard, it's so easy to obsess cause we have only ONE chance and it has been so long already, I'm on the verge of a nervous breakdown at the end of each day when we only got ads in the mail and nothing else but we'll make it!!

                • Also just received my biometrics appointment notice! My ACS reopened on 7/27 and the notice is dated 7/28. The appointment is scheduled for 8/13. Did not expedite.

Questions for people who've also received the notice:

                  1. Did you also receive the applicant's information worksheet (AIW) together with your notice? Do we need to fill it out ahead of the time?
                  2. My biometrics notice is for I-485 and I-765 only, but I also applied for I-131 at the same time I submitted my entire application package. Will there be a separate biometrics appt for I-131?

                  Thanks!

                      1. Yes, I received the AIW too. The attention page, point 3 says “Complete the attached AIW and bring it to your appointment.” That sentence to me means we should complete it prior to getting to the ASC.

                      2. Honestly, I don’t know about that cos I applied for I-131 as well but there’s no mention of that on the appointment letter. My 5 cents is that there wouldn’t be an additional biometric for only I-131.

Wow that’s interesting. But a careful look at the timeline seems to appear that the 2nd biometric appointment (for I-131) was cancelled and the one from/for the I-485 and I-765 was applied.

But thanks for sharing with us. Time will tell!
