“US immigration services set to furlough two-thirds of its workers after coronavirus stimulus talks fail”


USCIS still maintains their position about the furlough at the end of August. Imagine what will happen to our process if they furlough 13,400 employees out of their 20,000 employees.

I think after our biometrics, we should try to expedite if we’re eligible.

The day after I went to the ASC I got an email with the "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken" text. Hopefully I'll get the "ready to be schedule" in the next days! I can see some of you guys received it a few days after your biometrics! Good luck everyone

I couldn’t agree more! We gotta try and expedite the EAD before the furlough kickstart, that is if it would! Can you imagine what would happen if it does?! Another months of just waiting?!

It's a bit hard for me these days tbh. No news about the expedite, no biometric notice.
I already wrote twice to my congresswoman without hearing back, same goes with the senator and the "ombudsman service".

Sorry to hear that. It can be really hard. Do you want to call USCIS tomorrow to follow up? I really hope you hear from them soon - either on the expedite or the biometric appointment. Sorry once again.

Well I will call the congresswoman as soon as her office opens cause I called USCIS yesterday and there was nothing new.. It's ok, from the start they were late on my file, 40 days to just received the initial paper receipts (32 days for the text messages) it should have given me a hint haha
Anyways, will keep you updated if there's anything new

Curious because I got the yellow notice before getting any RFE and even before getting a biometrics notice. Find it weird !!

It was not weird. When they open your application and find I-693 to be missing, it makes sense for them to send you a notice about it. Don’t worry about it.

Mine got updated to show fingerprints have been applied as well, hopefully get that “ready to be scheduled for interview” update soon. That would put my mind at easy because it means no RFE.

Hi Everyone - I have couple of updates on my application so I thought I'll share with everybody. I got done with my Biometrics on 8/10. I was in and out in like 10 mins - super easy and quick process! My I-485 and I-765 online case status changed to "Fingerprints" were taken" on the same day 8/10 and I just received another update last night (8/11) on my I-485 case that its ready to be scheduled for an Interview. Now it all depends on my field office (Lawrence, MA) to schedule the actual interview! I have heard that it could take anywhere from 4-10 months or ever longer to get the interview so back to waiting game but I am so glad that things are moving.

Here's my updated timeline so far:

3/16: Package sent to USCIS Chicago Lockbox
3/17: Package received by USCIS
3/20: Credit Card charged
3/24: Text notification from USCIS
3/27: 4 NOA/ I-767 Receipts in mail
7/31: Biometrics Appointment Letter in mail
8/10: Biometrics Completed
8/10: Online Case Status (I-485 & I-765) changed to Fingerprints were taken
8/11: Online Case Status (I-485) changed to Case is Ready to be Scheduled for An Interview

Have you signed up for email notifications? And if so, did you receive an email notification about case status changed to “Case is ready to be scheduled for any interview”?

So, if the status updates to "Ready to be schedule for interview" you don't need to send all the photos and proofs of bona fide marriage?
