  • Hi everyone,

Great news indeed for this bill, but I think senate is "out of town" until sept 7, so not sure they will be able to approve it on time and avoid furloughs...

As usual and just to "ease" my process, a little no-update on my case : called USCIS this morning, no decision has been taken yet regarding my EXPEDITE (from 08/07) and no biometrics notice yet either. I contacted the ombudsman's office about their inquiry on my case, they haven't heard back from USCIS yet either.

Hopefully this week, something's going to happen

Yes it was my aim too when I filed for this expedite, for USCIS to deny it and send me a biometrics notice, but they have not denied it yet, so nothing is happening...

I also filed an inquiry for "outside of normal processing time" for I-131 on Friday aug. 21, but it has not been "attributed" to an officer yet., They have until Sept. 12 to reply to this one though...

How do they get to call it expedited if they have not been able to even take a decision on an expedited request since 8/7 !

Yep, am afraid they might have lost my file and aren't really trying to locate it, but I'll try to stay positive

            • I just got a letter from USCIS saying they are able to “reuse my previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics” and so “it is not necessary for me to appear at the ASC for a biometrics appointment”.

I’m so confused now because it is almost 2 weeks since I went to my ASC to get my biometrics taken. And I got a prompt same day that my biometrics have been applied to my case.

So if they could have applied my previous biometrics, why wait from March till now (2 weeks after going for my biometrics)? ????‍♂️

I’m wondering if there’s some action I have to take now.

Have you had your biometrics taken before?

Some people receive two separate biometrics appointments for I-485 and I-131 and the latter one is always canceled because they can use the biometrics taken previously. So maybe this is a smililar case where it’s just a system generated letter.

Anway, there’s nothing you need to do on your end.

Yeah, let’s hope and see what the Senate would do. That’s if the Red dominant senate do care about immigrants, and those 13,500 voters who are about to be put out of jobs.
Mmesa Again, it’s unfortunate and I’m sorry about the situation of your case. Despite the fingerprint being done, I myself is still in doubt about mine due to the delay. I check my status more than 6 times a day..everyday including Saturdays and Sundays..lol NOTHING YET.

aph What’s up, with the exception of the recent biometrics that you did this August 2020, did you do any other biometrics and what’s your entry Visa?
Just wondering how they got previous biometrics for you.

They’re referring about using your ASC biometrics for the I-131 and I-765. I got the same letter and if you check the upper right box, there you’ll find those numbers.

I initially thought this was for my I-131 (AP) but the letter says I-765.

I am on B2 visa and have not recently taken any biometrics; last time I did was 5 years ago when I got the visa.

That was my expectation but there’s no mention of I-131 on the letter. In your case, Aang_SD, did you receive a letter or an email or both saying that your finger prints (from I-765) has been applied to I-131?

                          • @aph.I think the letter you got was a mistake or something from USCIS..you don't have to do anything or worry about it..they might send you another letter acknowledging their mistake..USCIS is in chaos right now...

                            • @aph..I came to US on B2 visa too and they only took my biometrics at the embassy and fingerprints at the port of entry..I don't think they can used that for adjustment of status but I might be wrong

                              • Mmesa dealing with USCIS right now requires a lot of patience as they in a chaotic situation right now..I realized that and I stop worrying and bothering myself about my application..I still haven't got my biometrics appointment yet..today makes 35 days since my ASC has reopened..I am sure the biometrics appointment will come in before the 90 days..patience is just what is needed right now..
