  • I have submitted my application for AOS Concurrent Filing of Forms I-130, I-485, I-765, and I-131. I filled all the applications and attached all supporting documents. However, I noticed now that the tax transcripts of me, my wife are required as per the I-944 instructions. I attached my Tax transcript but not my wife and not my joint sponsor. Do you guys think that my application will be rejected or they going to issue Request For Evidence?

I-944 Instruction: You must provide an IRS transcript(s) of your Federal income tax returns for the most recent tax year and the IRS
transcript(s) of the household members whose income you are including".

    My application timeline:

    F-1 married to USC
    Concurrent Filing of Forms I-130, I-485, I-765, and I-131.

4/3 - package sent to USCIS CHICAGO LOCKBOX
4/6 - Package received by USCIS

    Checks not cashed yet!

Well, as for me I attached only my wife’s W2s and 1040 on the I-864, since the I-944 instructions say, if you have the required documents already attached on the I-864, you don’t have to attach it to the I-944. Therefore I only attached my school documents and my son’s U.S. birth certificate on the I-944 and it was received. Her yearly income was way over the required amount and could even sponsor 4 persons.

That’s my situation. I don’t know about others.

Not yet, but I’m very very pleased you finally got your case processed!

The case tracker is showing a lot of catch-up work on packages received around the 23rd March, so I hope to hear something about 24th March receipts over the next 48 hours (as they hit 30 days).

            • President Trump on 4/20/2020 @10.06pm tweeted
“In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States!”

How does this impact on current applications?

              Your thoughts please. Thank you!

              • We won't really know until the white house gives more details. It could mean they will stop issuing immigration visas to applicants who are still overseas, which won't really affect us. But it could also mean that they will stop processing/issuing green cards all together (or EAD/AP, which is arguably even worse).

Just when one thinks nothing out there could possibly be worse than a global pandemic, then you get reminded of Donald Trump

                • I think worst case scenario, they will stop issuing work permits and greencards for the next 3-4 months.

                  • He might suspend the DV Lottery which the results come on May 5. The worse scenario suspends issuing immigrant visas until the election date on November.

According to Brit Simon, a guy who runs a blog called “britsimonsays.com” has been providing free immigration tips and advices (for DV Lottery) that have worked for thousands of people posted this:

“Trump has signed the EO of the ban he described in a tweet a couple of days ago. Looking at the text of the ban there are some important points.
                              1. It does not affect people who already have a valid immigrant visa or existing permanent residents.
                              2. It does not affect those inside the USA looking to adjust status.
                              3. It does inlude DV lottery cases.
                              4. There are a number of exceptions for medical professionals, which may be useful to some DV lottery cases.
                              5. The order starts tomorrow night (April 23rd) and lasts 60 days

The EO is likely to be challenged, BUT it is important to note it only lasts 60 days. Embassies are currently closed sothat only stops visa issuance until late June - which is not that different to the impact we already knew because of the embassy closures. So, although the order could be extended (if not already blocked) it does not mean the end of the road for DV2020 cases.”

                              • Quick update: Received (4) receipt notice text messages this morning (at 12:24 a.m., EST); money withdrawn from account as well (we'd sent two checks/cheques: $535 / $1225, and made sure to mention the reason for those checks/cheques on the memo - just in case anyone is looking at this forum for that info).

Case was received at Chicago Lockbox on 24th March.

Will add a full signature to my account today with all info.
