My I-485 and I-765 online case status changed to "Fingerprints" were taken" on the same day 8/10 and I just received another update last night (8/11) on my I-485 case that its ready to be scheduled for an Interview. Now it all depends on my field office (Lawrence, MA) to schedule the actual interview! I have heard that it could take anywhere from 4-10 months or ever longer to get the interview so back to waiting game but I am so glad that things are moving.

    Here's my updated timeline so far:

    3/16: Package sent to USCIS Chicago Lockbox
    3/17: Package received by USCIS
    3/20: Credit Card charged
    3/24: Text notification from USCIS
    3/27: 4 NOA/ I-767 Receipts in mail
    7/31: Biometrics Appointment Letter in mail
    8/10: Biometrics Completed
    8/10: Online Case Status (I-485 & I-765) changed to Fingerprints were taken
    8/11: Online Case Status (I-485) changed to Case is Ready to be Scheduled for An Interview

    Wow that’s quick! Hopefully you get it soon.

    Hi,

    I guess I did not except for initial the visa application out of US 3 years ago.

    My Biometrics appt was also today! There was literally no other applicant in the building except for me. There are less than 10 chairs available to wait, although the space is pretty large. My husband says when he went to get his bio (January) the place was FULL. I wonder how this will affect people who have not received an appointment yet! My ASC is located in San Diego, CA btw.

    I’m in a similar situation as you. My suggestions are:
    1. As #Mmesa suggested, try again with the earlier documents;
    2. Apply based on humanitarian grounds;
    3. Where possible, get a job offer and request for an expedite based on the job offer.

    Hey there,

    Congratulations RYAN923 !!!
    You should try to expedite it again with the same supporting documents... It might work!

    On my side, nothing encouraging yet, still no news about the expedite, and nothing useful from customer service today appart from the confirmation NBC still has NOT requested my biometrics to Miami's field office...

    Actually I learned that USCIS offices have 90 days from their reopening to send the notices, and that my field office has been opened since 07/20.

    I guess I'll have to write to "my" congresswoman to see a progress in a decent timing.

    Congrats for the biometrics!

    About the Expedite, they are not going to refuse the request, but they are probably not going to approve it either, because of those missing biometrics.
    I contacted USCIS again today and was advised to call again and ask for a tier 2 officer who'll be able to (apparently) "help me / investigate my case further".
    They were all busy atm, so will try this tomorrow morning first thing!

    Still no bio notice in the mail.

    Ps: I use the uscis.gov website "check your status"
    Thanks!!!

    Probably there are chances of approval because I tried to expedite in April (without any biometric been done by then), but I was denied without even been given the chance to submit evidence. At least they accepted yours and requested for evidence.
