  • Form i-693 medical exam expiration question.

So we have to file AOS no later than 60 days after the civil surgeon signs Form i-693. So what date are they looking at? The day I mail the package with Fedex? Or the day they receive and sign it? Or the day they send me back a notice (i-797)?

Do you have the medical already? Many people file and then do the medical exam, this way you don't need to worry about the 60 days.

The 60 days should be either the day they received the package or the day you send the package. Please try not to wait too long, I have seen cases rejected by just 1 day.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have the medical. 60 days will be April 3rd. So I guess I'll send it a week before that.

Don't forget any form and send the correct payment. If they reject the package then your medical exam will not be valid if you need to resubmit. Good luck.

The 60 days is the date signed by the civil surgeon on the I-693 and your priority date. The priority date is the date an immigration petition, filed on behalf of him or her, is officially received by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
