Today make it 2 years 1month after submission of my 1-485, had the interview in 2018, IO said expect decision in 90 days , nothing tell today claiming they are awaiting background check
please advice.

hey, i'm having the same issues.

Here's our dates:

*Filled forms -i-485, i-765 etc December 23, 2017

*EAD card received May 2018

*Interview date was Jan 23, 2019

*EAD renewal made in May 2019

*Second interview scheduled July 10

*Second interview cancelled July 17

*Immigration agents came to our house for inspection November 10, 2019

*EAD renewal card approved December 2019

And then last week this: On March 18, 2020, we closed your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, Receipt Number YYYY YYYY , because the applicant or petitioner received a status or benefit through other means. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

So much has happened and we still don't know what is going on, after mid 2019 we hired a lawyer to check on the process, and still no answer.
Is anybody here facing the same issue?

If it's background check then nothing you can do ! Just wait

You might want to look into filing Writ of Mandamus.
