  • Application Process

Hello everyone, my name is Jeremy Robles. I am a Canadian citizen living in Chicago (F1 visa) who married to a US citizen spouse in November 2019. I filed I-130, I-485 (along with I-864 and i-944), and I-765. So far I have the following:

    PD to Chicago Lockbox: 03/30/2020
3 different I-797 received in mail: 04/18/2020-->everything was received and is being processed at NBC.

I am posting on here because I filed the forms myself and am asking what I should expect in terms of future notices and what I can expect in the mail? Also, does anyone know general timeline for someone filing from Chicago? Thank you everyone and good luck with your own cases. Hope everyone is staying safe!

If you correctly followed the instructions, and provided enough evidence, you shouldn’t have an RFE/RFIE. You will be getting a biometric appointment letter at some point, then hopefully an interview date

There's a March 202 filers thread where people are sharing their timelines. No one seems to have received a biometrics appointment notice yet, presumably due to the covid closings. You can share your timeline there as well.

        Hey Jeremy

My legal situation is sort of similar: L1B and married to a US Citizen. I was considering doing my own application and wondered if you had followed any guidelines?

        Thanks
        Craig

Hey everyone, I have a question, my AOS package got returned cause of outdated i-485 and they opened my I-693 medical exam. Do I need a new medical exam and to fill all the other papers again or I can just send it back with the updated I-485 and the same rest of papers.

Hey Viktoria, had the same situation happened to me. I called USCIS and they told me to just send back medical exam as it was "approved", they just cannot hold onto the documents so they had to send it back with everything else. I didn't have any information that medical is missing since then and I'm currently on "your interview is ready to be scheduled".
            take care

Married to USC, preparing documents all documents.
My question is do I have to have a health insurance while waiting for my approval or interview? My husband's request to add me to his health insurance was denied... is there an option in the health market we can get for me or can I stay without a health insirance for now. Also Im out of status. Thank you
