Obviously we don't know what the content of the EO is until it is signed/made public, but USCIS last updated their Covid-19 page TODAY, with information that they intend to reopen offices beginning May 4. This is a great sign for all of us with pending AOS applications and hopefully the EO won't change that:

    USCIS Office Closings
We last updated this page on April 21, 2020.
On March 18, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services temporarily suspended routine in-person services to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). USCIS plans to begin reopening our offices on May 4, unless the public closures are extended further. USCIS staff are continuing to perform duties that do not involve contact with the public. However, USCIS will provide emergency services for limited situations. To schedule an emergency appointment, contact the USCIS Contact Center.

This page contains a list of offices that are closed or have temporarily changed hours. Please check this page on the day of your appointment for any office closures or other important information.

Media organizations have seen a draft of the EO.

Could be a 90 day ban.

It will affect all work visas like H1 and/or F1 OPT. Pretty bad to hear this news, but at least spouses and children of US citizens will not be affected that much.

          03/25/2020: Package received by USCIS.

I think he’s doing this as an election stunt to appeal to the MAGA enthusiasts who voted him in 2016 when he promised to build a wall. I read a NY Times article saying that studies have shown that immigrant workers do not affect the hiring of American citizens at all. But of course, Trumpie took advantage of the pandemic in guise of him protecting American citizens. If you think about it and if he’s serious about doing this to contain the virus and to protect job opportunities for citizens, a 90 day ban is nothing. Things won’t get better until there is a vaccine or an immunity heard is formed. And unemployment will be a problem for a few more years.

Trump and his people just want to get the attention of the MAGA enthusiasts again. On a lighter note, at least it’s only 90 days (if the draft the journalists have seen is accurate). But here’s hoping that such Executive Order won’t be implemented.

I’m so frustrated. This is the second time my green card interview has been cancelled. Watching the news conference right now. He announced 60 days and then will decide whether to lift temporary suspension.

I'm in the same boat. EB1-A with March 31 interview now in limbo. Good luck and keep us posted if it's rescheduled.

We don't know. You're going to have to wait for the EO to be released.

I don't think it is a coincidence that he tweeted his plan the same day that polls show his approval rating falling.

                        It actually won't.
It will affect new applications (green card) mostly from US consulates abroad.
This is a precautionary measure that will last for 60 days.
It will not affect applications for temporary visas, for example, B1/B2 visas

This doesn't affect anyone who has already filed for AOS within the US or anyone already with a green card.

Trump is doing this to appeal to his base and to try and force through policies he and Stephen Miller had been cooking up from before (e.g. effectively ending the diversity lottery). It's about all he has left given that the economy has tanked and he hasn't handled covid-19 well. It's sad to see. Also doesn't make sense since he is still issuing temporary nonimmigrant visas, but little of what Trump does makes much sense beyond his xenophobia.

By the way, although USCIS offices are physically closed, they are still working and they are still processing green cards. Obviously they can't conduct in-person interviews, but things are still moving. They are using old biometrics and trying to work around what's going on. It's unlikely they will re-open their offices on May 4th. They will probably still be closed until end of May, in my opinion.
