  • Removing Conditions

    Hi guys. I was approved 2 years ago thanks to this website. My story and AOS package list is on here under "Georgia Filers" thread I started to help each other! Thank u guys! I am now ready to apply for i751;

I have gathered all my evidence:
    • Copy of our marriage certificate
    • Copy of our car insurance policy
    • Copy of our BJ’s household membership cards
    • Copies of the joint tax statements for the previous two years (2018-2019)
    • Copies of statements of the last six months from our joint checking and savings accounts.
    • Copy of YYYY renter’s insurance policy
    • Copy of the joint lien agreement on our car
    • Copy of our joint loan account from YYYY
    • Copy of medical insurance cards, showing joint policy

That's all I have. Would that be sufficient? Unfortunately, we haven't taken any trips anywhere so I don't have receipts or airline tickets to show anything. Also, the I751 is the only form I need to file to remove conditions correct? I know with the AOS I had to submit a few forms.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

We submitted/mailed our I751 form on May 4; 89 days prior to expiration of existing Green Card. Based on USCIS' instruction for Removal of Conditions on residence, it seems that the form I751 was the only form that was required along with the application fee, copies of the front and back of Green Card, the biometrics fee, and 'as many documents' as is necessary to support or stand as evidence of a legitimate relationship/marriage or evidence that supports that our marriage was entered into based on 'good faith'. We filed our I751 jointly. We used the instruction on the actual I751 application form, the instruction page, and their checklist as guides to prepare our package.

We pretty much submitted several documents that were similar to the ones you listed. Our application weighed in at USPS- 9lbs 5.8 oz (WOW, totally unintentional). In our package we provided information that showed our union from the date we got married (we took the information on the USCIS checklist a little bit too literally), so we provided 3 joint Tax return, bank statements from 2017 etc. Please see the list of what we submitted below. We also submitted a professional/business cover letter that formally outlined the purpose and contents of the package, we used a letter head (we used our photo as the image on letter head). We also provided sectional pages with descriptive content of each document within the binder. We placed our application form, the check, copies of my green card (back and front) in a separate letter (large) size envelop, we glued a label of the contents to the front of the envelop. We labeled our large 3 -ring binder as Evidence of Relationship Binder. We inserted our names in the content page as was necessary, so where you will see 'copy of my wife's...., or copy of my husband's... we had our actual names fully spelled out instead of our titles. In general, we did the best we could to submit a formal looking presentable package that we hope would support what is required for the I751. We will wait with hope on the outcome, being totally realistic that there might be delays that this pandemic may cause. See a list of what we submitted below. All the best.

Wow. That is a lot. They didn't ask for identification documents. Was that neccessary or did u add them to the package just to be on the safe side?

The front and back copy of the original green card was a requirement.

The rest we added them to be on the safe side and because they showed proof of living at the same addresses and those addresses on our documents changing at the same time (as we moved), going on trips to the same places (passport stamps back to my home country). My hubs still thought it was necessary to add the identifying documents and basically treated this process as he did the I130 and I485. His goal is to provide all the evidence necessary information so we don't have any delays. Best of luck to you.

            Hey Kaylip,

I have been checking the post office ever so often. The case was received on May 6, 2 days after we mailed it. We got our text message of acceptance on May 26 with information that they mailed the actual notice. We checked the post office today and have not received it yet. We are even wondering about our address change that was done in August 2019. Back then we immediately updated USCIS/DHS and got confirmation that they received the address change. We also included both address change receipts in our application. Our check was cashed by USCIS on May 27, 2020.

On June 2, we received an online notice of an updated name with descriptions indicating that they have or will soon send biometrics appointment. So technically we are not yet sure which address they are sending their receipts to as yet, but hope to get both soon. However, I think the general wait for a receipt is one month; it may arrive earlier. I am hoping you will get yours soon too.

It really sucks because my license is expiring in a few weeks. I need to get to work. I opened a question on the Experiences section of this site and I've noticed that persons whose cases were accepted end part of April have not received their receipts. https://www.immihelp.com/experiences...y-2020-494050/

Wow from April? That is a long wait. Yes if we got that receipt we would all be able to continue our different transactions seamlessly. Well, I anticipated that COVID 19 would delay the in-service appointments such as biometrics and perhaps a second interview, but I did not expect any delays in mailing of the actual receipts. I hope that you (we) will get it before our documents expire.

No but if that's what you need to do, just mention it on your cover letter. It doesn't matter how it was printed, as long as it is legible.

Just do one-sided. What if the Lockbox fails to scan the back of your double sided pages? Please don't make it any more complicated or non-obvious for those poor folks who are pushing paper in a Kafkaesque bureaucracy everyday.

Yes we did. Who has paper to waste? The fee is already too exorbitant to do too much of 'their office' work for them while buying ink, paper, and binders for ourselves. By now they have the most inventive copiers. However, if you feel more comfortable sending single-sided copies as they asked, go ahead, either ways the content on the document will be what's truly evaluated. Please click on the USCIS links below for specified steps in submitting documents as well as how the documents are processed at the Lockbox. All the best.
