I am not sure because I've been calling them and asking if I would have to redo the medical and the level 2 officers keep telling me to wait and see. Because mine expired may. And my interview was Oct 31st 2018 and until this moment I still can't hear anything from the Pittsburgh office. I am all put of patience.

(Update) I read on the USCIS site that they consider medicals if it is submitted with 60 days when the civil surgeon signs “and” USCIS is able to adjudicate within 2 years from the civil surgeon date.
Now we need to see if they will ask us to resubmit medicals due to the backlog or will they consider on a case to case basis for us to resubmit medicals. Essentially I think it is at their discretion.Last edited by IN888658S; 06-23-2020, 03:12 PM.

My PD final action date became current in Aug 2020 bulletin. I am still waiting for an update from USCIS. The USCIS processing timeline says that they process by the “Receipt Date” and the current processing date at the local USCIS office is Aug 24, 2017 and it is moving one day at a time - and the date is across all locations. My receipt date for I485 is Feb 9, 2018 and for I485J is Sep 25, 2018. Does this imply that I still have to wait for one more year to get my greencard? Any insight will be great! Thanks in advance.
PS : My interview was complete as of Oct 2018 and the decision was not made due to non-availability of visa at that time.Last edited by IN888658S; 08-20-2020, 12:13 PM.

I have great news to share. My I485 was approved as of yesterday. The USCIS processing timeline at the local office went to Oct 2018. So it seems that there is some connection with the USCIS receipt date to get an update on status after the final action PD becomes current.
I am now waiting for my card to arrive, which as per USCIS email notification can take up to 30 days!!
Thanks again for all the help this discussion forum has provided in my journey to become a permanent resident in United States!!!

One quick question - Once I get my greencard, will they reissue my social security card. My current social security card shows “valid for work only with DHS authorization”. I believe my reissued social security card will be without this restriction.
When I applied for EAD renewal, I do recall specifying I need social security card to be reissued. I did get it with the EAD renewal. However, I don’t recall specifying reissue of social security card in the I485 or I485J application
Please advise if I need to apply for it separately or will I automatically get it after I get my green card. Thanks much!

Next up, updating the drivers license to remove the limited term legend. Thanks!

Just FYI for folks who are planning to request SS replacement card. You need to submit the SS-5 form with the original documents (passport, driver’s license, Permanent resident card). The local office doesn’t provide in person appointments, so the only way to do it is by mailing them the original documents with the form. The entire process (for me) took close to 2 months. I was pretty anxious not having my originals with me and was so much relieved when I received them back with the SSN replacement (without the legend!).

What is weird in my case is that I got a drivers license without the limited term legend. My PD was not current at the time and my EAD had just 3 months left, so I expected my renewed DL to only be valid for 3 months but they gave me one for 6 years and without the legend.Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center

My case finally moved to card being produced yesterday. It has been a year since I started this post. Turns out the USCIS field office lost our files. Multiple SRs got the response ' we are still adjudicating your case'. Finally I reached out my congressman's office who were very efficient. A month after their office reached out we got a mail/RFE asking us to resubmit the file since they lost my file. A month later we got an RFE asking for the medical certificates again and a few months later now it looks like the case was approved. It turns out that I was just unfortunate and it is a very rare occurrence.
I also made a mistake in waiting to reach out to the congressman's office due to a misunderstanding. My PD was current but I was checking for normal processing times for Kansas as I thought that is where NBC was. When my lawyers told me that I need to check the field office's processing times I realized I could have filed an SR a couple of months ago. If I had done that I would have gotten my card many months ago.
