During 485pending, Can I enter school for new degree??

I had applied for 140, 485 based on H1-B and 140 has approved and 485 is pending.

Now I want to enter a school for new degree without waiting for 485 approval.
Is it possible?
If so, will 485 be cancelled? or keep going?

If not, is it possible to get F-1?
