Hi!
We submitted all paperwork in January 2020 (I-485, I-131, I-130, I-764, ...) and originally got a biometrics appointment scheduled for March. However, due to COVID, this appointment had been canceled (at least the office was closed). We did not hear back from USCIS since then. On their website it is stated they would reach out to us with more information about the cancellation of the biometrics + a new appointment once available. This has not happened yet. We're still waiting for EAD card and other stuff.
What are our options other than waiting? Also, as far as I understand, the biometrics appointment is required for them to proceed with all applications. I just assume they won't waste taxpayer money on proceeding with applications until your fingerprints come back and you are not a criminal.
Is this assumption correct? Will COVID in the end just delay the entire process by X months or is there any work the USCIS can do at the moment without having the finger prints?
