  • How to make payments for USCIS

    Hiiiiiiiiii
    -Same-Same sex couple here.
    -Married to USC on 01/27/2020.
-Just awaiting for the city of Chicago to open up city clerks to obtain our marriage certificate, that's the only one document we are missing right now.
-Filled out already last week I-485, I-130, I-130A, I-131, G-1145, I-765, I-864, I-864 for joint sponsor, I-944, and I-693 done already (yes, I know it has a validity of 60 days). Filing on our own, no lawyers, screw that haha! $3000 plus filing fees, are they crazyyyyy? Anyways....

-Now, I'm about to go to the bank to buy a cashier check or money order, so I have a quick question:

-What is the best way to make this payment?

    Personal check?
    Cashier check?
    Money order?
    Credit card?

What do I tell the teller at the bank should I buy a cashier check?

Is it one whole amount? $1,760.00?

Or separate amount? One for AOS+Bio, and one for I-130? $1225+$535?

Please share with me how you did it. Thanks a lot!

I used two personal checks, one for $1225 and one for $535. They went through without any trouble.

If you pay by cc and have recently moved, be absolutely sure to put the right billing address associated with your card. I didn’t, had to change at the last second, and thankfully did it in time - almost had a heart attack when I realized the mistake

It’s in the instructions. Form I-693 must be dated no earlier than 60 days prior to filing the underlying application.

Of course. Get with your Civil Surgeon to make sure your I-693 is not 60 days prior to filing.

The user above replied already but yeah man, once you get the medical exams (I-693) you gotta make sure to send all your documents to immigration within 60 days. The exams have a validity of 60 days from the moment you visited the doctor's office, they will type the date you visited their office. Having that said, you have 60 days from that day to send everything you've got to immigration. If you send that last those 60 days, immigration will send a RFE and you'll have to take a new exam.
