For the actual interview questions were very straightforward. They asked us to give a timeline of our relationship - when we met, when we visited, when we first lived together, got engaged, got married etc. Month and year were fine. Then he asked what we like to do for fun - we talked about how we ski a lot in winter, hike and camp in summer, travel a lot when we can. Then he asked about a regular night after work and we just talked about watching Netflix, movies, etc.
Then he reviewed our forms I-485 and I-130, asked us to state each other’s names, birthdays, parents names, where each other was born, job and job title. How many times has each other been married including this one, do you have any kids from this marriage or any previous relationship. Then he asked me questions from the long yes/no question section, he maybe asked 10-15 of those questions, straight from the form - things like have you ever entered the US illegally, have you ever worked without authorization, have you ever falsely claimed to be a US citizen, have you ever been arrested or convicted of any crimes. He did ask me how many times do I think I have entered the US ever and on which statuses, what has been my longest stay in the US before my current one. They were ok with an estimate there I did not know exact answers.
He then reviewed our updated evidence. Things we included: joint bank statements (very important), photocopies of joint credit cards, credit card statements, title and mortgage of our home, previous rental leases, joint health/car/home insurance, joint bills (we only have one), flight records from flights taken together or to see each other, memberships we have together (example costco, homeowners association, ski passes), documents to support booking of our wedding (venue, vendors, save the dates, photographer), photos with friends and family, screenshots of ******** or Instagram posts to show us tagged with friends and family or friends and family liking/commenting.
He did do some updates on information that had changed since we submitted or anything that might have been missing. I did have to sign to approve these changes - they want you bringing your own pen (black or blue ink)
The whole thing took 30 minutes, we were back in the car by 9:15. He told us at the end that everything looked good he just had to finish reviewing our updated evidence, review my medical, and do our background checks - and if everything was good to expect approval later in the day or in the next day or two. I received the approval at about 3pm
Keeping you all in my thoughts! I hope you all receive good news soon!
