RFE for i485 - Redo the form

Myself and my wife have received our EAD cards; however a pink RFE letter asks us to “submit a properly completed and signed I-485. All pages must be present and of the correct edition date”.

The form version is correct and our immigration lawyers reviewed the entire form and were comfortable with the form, prior to submitting it. As such, I am quite worried as that’s not an RFE that one would normally expect. It is not as specific as it may sound.

Has anyone ever received a similar letter? What advice would you give considering my L1A visa is due to end in 5 months?

When did you submit the Forms? If that was postmarked after Feb 24 you may have to submit the new version of Form i-485. But if your case was sent (postmarked) prior to Feb 24 it is technically a mistake from USCIS.

Thanks Leo for your response. The forms were submitted in December 2019 and the edition date on the submitted forms is 07/15/19. I suppose there is not much I can do other than re-submitting the i485 form using the latest version (10/15/19)?

You should not need to submit the new edition of I-485. Submitting the new edition of I-485 would mean you would be subject to the new public charge rule, and would need to complete I-944, etc. This is disadvantageous to you compared to the old rules. Since you filed before February 24, you should be adjudicated under the old rules, and there is no reason for them to ask for new editions of forms.

Thank you newacct for your response. Can USCIS then be advised that they have the correct forms based on my submission date or this will probably not change their stance?
