I am preparing to file the renew application. When I filed the initial application I was F-1 status. Am I still F-1 status with a pending I-485 or I need to fill another status in the application? Thank you!

You can be F-1 if you are a student with a valid and current I-20 and you haven't done anything outside your F-1 status requirements. If you are not enrolled anymore, don't have a valid I-20, have used your AP to travel abroad or your AOS EAD for work then you are no longer considered F-1.

We put "Pending I-485" on form I-765 for Current Immigration Status or Category (for spouse and child) and no problems with renewal.

Thanks, this may sound stupid but I just would like to make sure... when I use I-485 pending status do I still need to attach a I20 form? I attached my I20 form in my initial EAD application

I20 is not part of the documents for AOS EAD nor for AOS EAD renewal.

Just to be clear, when we renewed our AOS EAD we put "Pending I-485", this is not for first AOS EAD.
