Silence since NOAs for me too other than this notice. No bio, nothing !
Hi, Just wanted to ask you some questions hope you won't mind.

I see that you have a attorney represented for you same as mine. So you will also get the physical I797 receipt notices even go through a law firm? and will you also receive text notification from USCIS as well? As my attorney told me today that my application fee check was cashed in August 24 by USCIS. I'm wondering if I will receive the physical I797 receipt in my mailbox so that I can keep a copy of the receipts.

Some options you can look into (more than one can apply):
              1. (Best option) Ask the issuing authority to provide an updated document that meets one of the criteria above, or have the issuing authority provide a description about the digitization process and how it is expected that some documents could have illegible information.
              2. Use a professional translation company. They would need to list everything on the original in the translation also and certify that it is correct.
              3. Additionally, provide secondary evidence of the birth (e.g. matriculation certificate and other government-issued identification documents listing date of birth depending on the country. e.g. for India this could be Aadhar card, PAN card, driving license, passport, etc.)
              4. Additionally, provide atleast 2 affidavits from individuals closely related to the person, older and familiar with the birth. You can review these links for descriptions and sample affidavits:
                1. https://www.immihelp.com/birth-certi...-requirements/
                2. https://www. ******** .com/us-birth-certificate
              This grasshopper isn't patient!!

So I decided the easiest thing would be to go back to the translator we used for all our docs. On the birth certificate translation, I noticed she grouped a signature and seal together and marked both as illegible which wasn't the case, only the seal was illegible.

So I had her separate them in the translation and sent this back. USCIS confirmed receipt online yesterday.

              Hope it works!

It just says the same as yours - updated to show fingerprints were taken, but the “case status” line show “initial review” in my email notification. Appears to mean that they are proceeding with background check and application review. This is my first time going through this so I’m not entirely sure.

                    • Hi Everyone,

I just joined this forum. My husband and I filed for AOS for me at the end of July 2019. We're close to DC so I imagine the field office is in Northern VA. I see many people who have filed in July or later have already received their GCs (with some interviews waived). I'm not sure if our case is delayed because of the particular office. Back in early December 2019 we got an online message that we're waiting for the interview to be scheduled. Then it was months of waiting (and nothing) until Covid happened. At the end of June of this year the message was updated that as of June we're in the queue for interview, and I have no ideal what this update means.

We discovered we were going to have a baby right after we sent in the documents last year. Our daughter was born in March. I just sent them additional evidence of a bona-fide marriage, including proof of our daughter's birth.

Has anyone had a similar situation and any advice? Anyone in the DC/NOVA office got their GC already?

                      Thank you so much!

I think you should post this in the July 2019 thread since that is when you filed. This is for filers of July 2020 - no one here would be anywhere near to where you are in the process.

                            • My I-693 Deficiency Notice states that, if I receive an interview notice, I must bring the information and evidence required to address the deficiency. If my case does not require an interview, I will receive an RFE with further instructions. Also asks me not to mail any documents at this time.

My question is at what point should I complete the Medical Examination? If the interview and interview notice are a week apart, then that'll be a little tight.
