My question is at what point should I complete the Medical Examination? If the interview and interview notice are a week apart, then that'll be a little tight.
My attorney strongly encouraged me to do the examination before filing for that reason.
In my case the examination involved some bloodwork and it took about a week to get the results.

USCIS: would NEVER send a notice with ONLY one week for an interview. They know you don't have your medical. The risk you have when sending the medical with your filing is that if they reject it (twice in my case). You have to have new medical because they would brake the seal, which implies more money to waste.
      05/08/20: I-485, I-765, I-131, I-944 sent to USCIS
05/13 Rejected due to lack of I-864
      05/27 resubmitted with explanation
      06/03 Rejected again-same reason
      06/13 Resubmitted with I-864
07/07 Lockbox emailed back and ask to resubmit
07/09 Filings accepted with PD 05/08/20 (nice)
08/06 Prior biometrics applied to I485
08/28 Took biometrics for I-765 only
      09/28 I-765's Cards Ordered
      10/02 EAD/AP received
      04/12 Interview Sched
05/11 Interview done approval on the spot but no USCIS update online

salb I received a similar letter. My lawyer advised me to wait. I ended up receiving an RFE to mail it, and it had a date of well over a month to mail it to them. Because you don’t know exactly when that RFE will come, your medical might expire. In my case, the letter (Medical form deficiency courtesy letter), came in mid March, and the RFE letter came in early July, and they gave me till September 21 to send it. Hope this helps.

Under what circumstances would they waive the interview? What was your situation that they waived it, if you don't mind me asking?

As I understand it, if you’re a parent of USC, the interview can be waived. Which was the case for me. I’ve also read here that some employment based AOS interview requirement have been waived.

                    • Is it safe to assume that you might not receive an RFE after you receive a I-693 notice? From looking at people's timelines, that's what it seems like. I'm assuming they have already gone through my package and the I-693 was the only thing that was missing.

Based on what people are posting on Reddit April and March filers are getting biometrics now. Very few marriage based AOS getting biometrics who filed after that. I'd wait 2 or 3 more months
