    • This morning I got a phone call from an Immigration officer, and I almost had a heart attack haha!

A few weeks ago I called USCIS in regards my biometrics appointment I haven't received, and the USCIS agent said that she'll send to the Chicago office a E-request.

Anyways, this morning I got a call from an officer and he wanted to speak to me regarding that request.

My PD is June 30th 2020, and he said that Chicago FO is clearing up a backlog since April. Basically, he said that I am in their system and that everything looks good but I needed to wait. That the appointment will come eventually. He was very respectful and professional and did not ask anything else about my case. Just asked a few personal questions about my I-485 application and that was it. He explained to me that most of the times the officers do not schedule an appointment if they don't have the case adjudicated, in example saying that they will not schedule a bio appointment if they don't have the file on their desk because if they do it too early then there is a chance they'll have to ask the applicant to take another biometrics.

Having that said, I guess yeah, I'll keep checking my USPS delivery emails haha!

      My timeline so far:

-01/27/20: Same sex couple, married to USC.
      -06/29/20: Package I-130, I-130A, I-131, I-485, I-693, I-765, I-864, I-864 joint sponsor and I-944 sent via certified mail USPS.
-06/30/20: Delivered by USPS and signed by Chicago lockbox T Thomas.
      -07/25/20: Checks cashed.
-07/30/20: Text messages received with case confirmation numbers.
-07/31/20: Received NOA's in the mail.
-08/05/20: Received RFIE notification from USCIS for I-485, letter to follow via mail.
-08/10/20: Received RFIE in the mail asking for my partner's pay stubs for the last 6 months and letter of employment.
-09/18/20: Mailed out RFIE to Lee-Summit's office.
-09/21/20: USCIS confirms they've received RFIE.
-10/27/2020: Called USCIS regarding biometrics appointment not yet scheduled. USCIS send E-Request to Chicago FO.
-11/10/2020: Immigration officer reaches out to me via phone call to explain the reason I haven't received a biometrics appointment, appointment will come eventually.

        • I can see on redit that a lot of people are talking with Tier 2 officers and they are able to schedule the appointments.
The catch here is that you have to wait the first 90 days for the case to stuck then you have to open an injury and wait 30 more days. If you don't have a response then you can ask for a tier 2 officer.
I'm really so frustrated with waiting...

No one knows. I'm still waiting on my bio too. It may have to do with how backlogged your local office is.

Agree with other posts after this one, it seems like they are just very backlogged and unfortunately we have to keep on waiting. I'm also loosing my mind a bit being in quarantine and not being able to work or anything. It's just another level of restraint and it feels awful. Thanks for sharing, hope everyone is doing well.
