    My timeline so far:

    PD 06/30/2020

-06/30/20: Delivered by USPS and signed by Chicago lockbox T Thomas.

-09/18/20: Mailed out RFIE to Lee-Summit's office.
-09/21/20: USCIS confirms they've received RFIE.
-10/27/2020: Called USCIS regarding biometrics appointment not yet scheduled. USCIS send E-Request to Chicago FO.
-11/10/2020: Immigration officer reaches out to me via phone call to explain the reason I haven't received a biometrics appointment, appointment will come eventually.
-11/23/2020: USCIS files another E-Request for biometrics.

We filed in July and we received NOA in August. There has been no changes in our case status since. We were hoping to at least get the EAD so she can work and get her DL renewed.

Anyhow, we called USCIS two weeks back inquiring about Biometrics. The lady said we should have received Bio-metrics appointment by now. She mentioned to wait. We then filed an online request to check upon the case and it is past the time frame they mentioned, that we would receive a reply. As per USCIS it says that we should look at processing time for our field office (viz. is Tampa in our case). However, I think the case should have moved forward and we should have at least received the appointment for Biometrics.

We were wondering, what would be the best thing to do. Shall we just wait or try to contact USCIS again. Shall we get a lawyer? Thanks everyone.
Hi, We are in the same boat. My receipt date is June 30th and I still do not have a biometric appointment. I have sent two SR last month and still no update on my case. my case is with NBC but my field office is Seattle Washington. An officer I talked to mentioned that lack of biometric appointment is due to covid and restrictions with their application service centres on the number of appointments they can have daily while respecting the covid guidelines. She just advised to continue waiting. At this point, I have waited 8 month without any biometrics

You can try asking in a different forum and see if other people know more like on reddit maybe.
I recommend using the app "Lawfully" they have a bigger community where you can ask questions, people there might have a similar situation to yours.
        Good luck!
        Thanks for the suggestion...

                    Congratulations.

I contacted a Lawyer. Was advised things are crazy with USCIS. The previous administration cut the wings of USCIS (basically made the case processing slower each year). Then they had lack of funding and then the COVID crisis. Things are taking much longer so just got to be patient with them. The lawyer mentioned, if you didn't receive any rejection notice or negative statement from USCIS, then it is ok.

Was also advised that we should be getting the Work Permit anytime soon. Maybe in March (hopefully!). So the waiting game continues.

Guess got to be patient with USCIS this time...

                      • I got my interview!

So that means I need to get the medical exam, which seems tricky in New York City. In all the threads people talk about getting only the vaccine transcript and avoiding the full exam to save money, but no one explains how or why they are able to do thatt. Isn't everyone required to have the full medical exam?

I don't know what those people are talking about. You need the I-693 signed by a civil surgeon. You'll need to show the surgeon that you have a number of vaccinations (check the CDC website for the up to date list, it will depend on your age). I believe that if you are missing certain vaccinations, you either get them or get tested for the disease/antibodies, in which case it's simply easier to get the vaccination beforehand (maybe this is what they are talking about).
In my case I had all the required vaccinations except for chickenpox, as I had the disease as a child (and so got natural immunity from it). I had no proof that I was immune so the doctor told me that I'd either get the vaccine or an antibody test. Vaccine was cheaper and faster so he gave it to me on the spot.

So that means I need to get the medical exam, which seems tricky in New York City. In all the threads people talk about getting only the vaccine transcript and avoiding the full exam to save money, but no one explains how or why they are able to do thatt. Isn't everyone required to have the full medical exam?
Kippenpox is right. You definitely need the medical exam, there is no way around not providing this form. And also yes, what you can do is gather all proof of vaccines and immunizations you got when you were younger and look at the list of required vaccinations to get a boost of the ones that are not up to date. This way the process would go faster for the civil surgeon and you'll get the signed form ready for your interview.

If you are over 18, you need proof of MMR, TDap & Chickenpox vaccines (only if you haven't had chickenpox). CVS and Walgreens do these regularly - our CVS even did it without an appointment. My insurance covered them.

                              • My case has been sitting on the NBC (after transfer) for 6 months now.. Is there anything I can do to figure out if I'll have an interview or if they are waiving it?
