The birth certificate is very important document when you apply for adjustment of status. for the medical, you will need to check this website to find a doctor https://my.uscis.gov/findadoctor
but I don’t recommend doing this until you receive your interview date or request for evidence because it expire if you don’t send them within 60 days from the date of the doctor signature.

They could have still sent a request for something other than the birth certificate, guess you will only know that after you receive the notice. Do update us what the RFE was about when you get it.
And in any case I would suggest that you send your birth certificate this time in response to the RFE even if the RFE isnt about the birth certificate so that you do not get another RFE later.
Are you working with a lawyer? Your lawyer shudve told you about the fact that the birth certificate is mandatory. Did you send your passport as a proof of birthdate/country?

Also, was this request you got over email or SMS?

Yes I'm following each step with a lawyer but when i send the application I couldn't get my birth certificate from my country because all the offices were closed and the post office was suspended...
Now i got it so I will definitely consult with the lawyer and send it.

                            • For folks who are using a lawyer here...just curious what did your lawyer fill in Form G28 - Part 4 - 1a to 1c - Option Regarding Receipt of USCIS notices documents. See image for what im talking about. He told me its standard practice for lawyers to check those boxes in 1a and 1b. IS that true?

Im little concerned that because of this im not sure if USCIS will mail me documents etc and I will have to keep following up with my lawyer.

I used a lawyer before and yes he checked both of the items, but it was not for a green card it was for something else and USCIS used to send a copy from each notice to me and my lawyer, so it was a good thing in case mine got lost I would have the copy with my attorney. I don’t know what happens for the GC when you have attorney .
