Why 4? I only got 3 (one for I-485; I-765, I-131) Did you have a I-130 too? why don't you enter the receipt online to see for which form you've got receipt for.

Ah we didn't submit an I-131... that could be why!

The receipts were for: I-765 and I-130... and the last one was simply we have received your fee for biometrics... " we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485"

Is that a typical receipt for the I-485? Or do others' say they received the case?

Basically, you sent 3 forms (I-485; I-765, I-130). Therefore, you received 3 notice. You did not submit 4 Forms. I submitted 3 forms because my I-130 was approved in 2010 (F3) with a PD of 12/07/2008. Now if you want to apply for travel document, you can still use your receipt of I-485 so that you dont have to pay while waiting for your case to adjudicate. if you wait after October 2nd, you will pay full fee for an I-131.

                • So, is it clear to anyone here what the deal is with the I-944 for anyone who filed in July before the 29th? Will it be "looked at" by USCIS or simply ignored? I am freaking out a little bit about the whole tax transcript business, as I only attached 1040's and W2s in my application.

                    Snippet:

"As long as the July 29, 2020, SDNY decision is in effect, USCIS will apply the 1999 public charge guidance that was in place before the Public Charge Rule was implemented on Feb. 24, 2020 to the adjudication of any application for adjustment of status on or after July 29, 2020. In addition, USCIS will adjudicate any application or petition for extension of nonimmigrant stay or change of nonimmigrant status on or after July 29, 2020, consistent with regulations in place before the Public Charge Rule was implemented; in other words, we will not apply the public benefit condition.

For applications and petitions that USCIS adjudicates on or after July 29, 2020, pursuant to the SDNY injunction, USCIS will not consider any information provided by an applicant or petitioner that only relates to the evidence required by the Public Charge Rule, including information provided on the Form I-944 or any supporting documentation included with that form, or information on the receipt of public benefits in Part 5 on Form I-539, Part 3 on Form I-539A, Part 6 on Form I-129, or Part 6 on Form I-129CW, or any additional documentation pertaining to the public benefit condition. Applicants and petitioners whose applications or petitions are postmarked on or after July 29, 2020, should not include the Form I-944 or provide information about the receipt of public benefits on Form I-485, Form I-129, Form I-129CW, Form I-539, or Form I-539A."

Honestly I944 is my biggest concern too. My lawyer said that it will be applied cuz my case was received before 29th July. But some other lawyers I spoke to say it wont be applied. I was curious reading the USCIS rule above as to when does 'adjudication' technically happen? At time of submitting, or fingerprinting, or interview or somewhere in the middle. That's the question. And again why would it say it would ignore I944 for applications that have already come in before 29th July if it were not planning on ignoring public charge for old applications.

I have not submitted my transcripts either, but lawyer said 1040 and W2 should be fine - they give more information than transcript. I'm not able to still get my transcripts online - its unable to verify my information correctly.

Also feel that I944 would be ignored for us since I believe that our application hasnt yet been 'adjudicated'. If USCIS planned to apply public charge only to applications that came in after 29th July it would that more clearly. But anyway who knows what happens inside. On one side this should speed up things - cuz i feel that most people in there would need more time to apply public charge rule assuming they dont get furloughed. Im pretty sure there is a lot of chaos withing USCIS right now regd everything - furloughs + DACA + H1B ban + corona + ever changing policies of this administration.

Your and my case is similar in that sense - lets see what happens...fingers crossed.

                            • Other people who are using a lawyer here - what are your lawyers saying about I944 public charge - do they think it will be applied to people who sent apps before 29th July with the I944?

                              • Adjudication is a fancy word for ‘making a decision’.
Relax - they can not apply I-944 until injunction is lifted.
