  • A#?

My wife came into USA with K-1(Fiancee) visa. We sent AOS application that was promptly rejected because it did not have A#. I believed that with this type of non-immigrant visa she was not supposed to have one. Now we cannot locate it, she has I-94 but A# is nowhere in sight. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.
By the way, when we tried to put "N/A" in the empty box with A#, it was filled automatically with 9 zeroes, and that's how we sent it out.

The A# is in the K1 VISA that is usually pasted in your wife's passport. You will also need to specify the nonimmigrant number which is in RED. Good luck!

      Thank you for your response.
The only numbers that required to be indicated in AOS application are:
      Nonimmigrant visa number (part 3, A) and I-94 number(part 1).
The first can be easily located on the top right corner of the visa page in the passport, the second - on the front of the I-94 ( nothing is on the back in our case). The number in red (starting with letter in the right bottom corner) is not requested anywhere in the application. Hence, the question stands: where is the A#?
I have heard that it is the number which is given you by USCIS after they accept your application. At this point we just put N/A and we'll have to wait for the outcome.

It is only in our case or in general, but NO A# is needed for I-485!
just received the application acceptance notice.
Apparently no A# is assigned to K-1 visa recipients (the visa was issued in the consulate abroad). It is possible, also, that there are cases where A# is present.
