B2 authorized till Sep 5 - what if AOS acknowledgment delayed/AOS application denied?

2 questions:
For B2 authorized till Sep 5 starting AOS process.
Will AOS beneficiary be out of status in the below cases? What should be the next step in both cases:

Case - 1: AOS application acknowledgement from USCIS doesn't arrive by Sep 5.
Case - 2: AOS application gets denied after Sep 5.

USC filed AOS for parents on B2. I am not a lawyer.
