i-485, how much longer?

Hi!
My AOS receipt was dated back to April 17th 2003. It said that it will take up to 460 days for the case to be completed. Then in Sept. 2003 the INS in Nebraska asked for more evidence, which I provided. Here's what the case status online says now:

On September 23, 2003, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 570 and 600 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case.

I have two questions:

1. It's been a year and 8 months (so it's already been 600 days!) since I applied for AOS - how much longer should I wait before it is aproved?

2. Does the responce above mean that the Nebraska's INS is satisfied with my additional evidence and that my case will be aproved?

I-485 delay

Mi I-485 was filed in ... 1997! My wife and I went for an interview at the INS in the summer of 2000 and we have not heard from them ever since. Let me know how to check the status of I-485 - I do not know my receipt number which makes things even more complicated (my attorney has it but "too busy" to do something for me, I presume)

Wow....1997!!! You really need to kick your lawyers behind into action...the least he/she can do is send you a copy of your receipt so you have all the relevant numbers..

and Nebraskai485, yes, I guess your additional paperwork is okay and this is just 'processing time'...
I guess the only thing you can do is wait and call the 1-800 number again..

i am married with US citizen and i had interview in Aug 2004. i didnot get any decision on interview. The interviewer told me, i will mail you decision. still i am waiting for decision. I inquired with the immigration office two months ago. tehy said you need anotehr interview, but do not know when. i am still waiting. plz help me and tell me what should i hav eto do. i talked with my lawyer so many times but he said wait, what till than when.
