expired PA Driver License renewal, just got my EAD though

I hope somebody could answer my question... my driver license expired 12/31/2019, and I was in the process with the I485, with the pandemic delaying everything, I just got my EAD card like 12 days ago, I didn't find an answer about how long I could wait to renew my driver license, since my case is different than regular cases....I saw on the website it says as following:

10. Can I renew an expired license?
Any previously issued license that is already expired or within six months of the expiration date can be renewed unless it is:

• A Commercial Driver’s License or
• Not currently valid (suspended, revoked, disqualified, cancelled)

so does it mean I can't renew my license since it's been more than 6 months plus my license expired before the pandemic so whatever extension for expired licenses that Penndot implied doesn't work on my case, but have to take the test again? I really don't want to it was not so great experience... I am trying to push my husband to take me to penndot asap but his working hours are a mess after the reopening...


Would be so much appreciated if someone could help me with this, I tried to call the center to ask but I guess they are busy I got hung up many times...

Bro: your driver license is expired. All you have to do is drive to your local DMV (BMV) with your brand new EAD card and renew your driver license. Each State is different, in Indiana, if your driver license is expired for over 6 months, you just have to retake the writing exam. It seems to me you should have be able to answer that sample question by just go to your local BMV.

It means that you can renew your license 6 months before expiration or after expiration (does not specify how long after expiration).

In Texas, you can renew your license 2 years before expiration and up to 2 years after expiration.
