Question about Forms Employment Status (Originally Employed via H1B then laid off)

I am wondering how I should fill the employment section. I am married recently to a USC after being laid off but before I am out of status. Should I list unemployed or continue listing my previous employer in the employment field? It seemed strange to list unemployed, but list being in the US from H1B visa in the form.

If you are laid off, then you are unemployed. You will list your previous employer when asked about employment history.
