I applied for AOS I-485 and I-765 in March 2020 (category F2B and the petitioner is Green card holder). first biometrics appointment was cancelled due to Covid 19 closure.Now I received a letter for biometrics for EAD card which is in the first week of August 2020. My current E2 visa status is expiring in the last week of Sept 2020. Do I need to renew the E2 visa. Is the pending I-485 and EAD card is a legal status.? For the green card interview do I need to have a legal status of the visa?

As long as you filed I-485 before your status ended, you don't need to maintain status while I-485 is pending and going out of status while I-485 is pending won't affect your I-485.

I received NOA 797 3/18/2020
I received REF 4/12/20
I submitted REF 5/12/2020.
I got purple-colored courtesy letter on 5/15/2020 with a message that I-693 is missing but please don't submit until further notice.
I received biometrics appointment 7/23/2020
Now waiting for the EAD card.
Should I get the approval notice for I-485 ? I am confused.I appreciate your helpComment
