Lock Box and service center

Hi anyone what is the difference between the lockbox and the service center.

Lockbox handles initial acceptance and processes payment. I.e. data entry and payment processing. After this, the service center reviews and manages your case, mostly to ensure the case is fully adjudicatable before sending it to the field office.

They can approve or deny, request more information and process more information into your case and/ or involve a field office for interview/ final adjudication etc.
