  • Receiving Green Card By Mail

Hello Everyone, I have a quick question.

So I had my Green Card Interview on August 4th. The officer told me I would have my Green Card within 3 weeks. I went home and my Case Status said "Card is being Produced." Then The next day it said "Your I-485 Case Has Been Approved." It still is saying this and I'm wondering if it will say when they mail my card? With my EAD my Case Status said "Your Card has been Mailed to You." So I'm wondering if my Green Card Case Status will say the same thing, or not?

Any insight is helpful and appreciated.

    Thanks

Based on reading previous reports here, cards seem to be shipping about 2 weeks after the production notice.

The status for 485 will change to "Card Was Mailed to Me" in due time. It took a couple of weeks for them to mail mine out as condor said. In my case it was exactly 17 calendar days between "New Card is Being Produced" and "Card Was Mailed to Me".

        CONGRATULATIONS!!

It appears by looking at some of the other posts here you're looking at between 14-21 days for the status to update to ''your card has been mailed''

When did you file for your AOS?
Was it Family or employer based?
        Where did you file?

Im stuck at... your are ready to be scheduled for an interview... since 24 February (NYC), so eager to get this final step done and dusted, and guidance would be great!!

My husband’s interview was on July 24, we didn’t get approval at the interview but later that day case status changed to “Card is being produced” on July 28th status changed to “we approved your form I-485”, August 13, status changed to “we mailed your
          new card”

You received an RFIE after your biometrics.
Can you pls share in detail what was the RFIE for and how you addressed it? Thanks!

verbose The RFIE was them requesting more evidence of my Sponsor's income. My sponsor is self employed so he has a different type of taxes and proof of income. So they just wanted more proof. We sent in his entire tax file (probably 60 pages), pictures of all the checks he deposited over the past year, and his bank statements over the last year.

It's been 16 days since my interview was done and case was approved, and my Case Status still hasn't updated to "Card has been Mailed to You." I'm sure nothing is wrong, I just tend to worry when they take a while.

I sent my medical along with my 485 application. But yeah, they waived my interview. I heard they are waiving a lot of EB interviews.

pulibidda007 I hope so..i didn’t have my medical taken yet. I don’t know if i have to make an appointment for my medical and send it to them or just wait for their instruction. Just got an approval for my I 765 last Monday after 1 year of waiting. Any suggestions if i should go ahead with my medical and send it to them? Thanks!

You should only do and send the medical exam if:
                              - you are sending the medical with your I-485
                              - you receive an RFE asking for the medical and instructions to where to send them

You should bring the medical exam in person if you receive a letter that says to bring them to the interview or personally drop it at USCIS, they will provide the address.

It is not advised to just mail I-693 on their own and only do that if you receive an RFE.
