No penalty reschedule due to COVID

How does one actually reschedule the adjustment (I-485) interview due to COVID, while making sure there is no penalty? I have an interview on Monday morning but I need to reschedule due to COVID concerns. How would I know they approved the rescheduling? They typically work at the snail pace and I doubt I’ll get any sort of confirmation before the interview. Has anyone done it yet?

They must have a rapid process, otherwise people will be showing up sick or not.
