  • Fl/Miami filers : anyone received their biometrics notice?

    Hi there,

Sorry for the new topic but I'm getting more and more confused as I still have not received a biometrics notice after 5 months waiting.
Is there any Miami filers around here that could confirm their timeline please?
I've been told our field office reopened on 07/13...

    Many thanks

      Hi,

Oh but I called... many times actually :

On 08/06 I filed for an expedited process of my EAD over the phone,
On 08/07 sent supporting documents by fax after receiving a notice by email... still pending.

In the meantime, I wrote three times to "my" congresswoman, following the process and asking to be recontacted... not heard back.
I also wrote to the senator's office, and received an automatic reply redirecting me to a phone number that does not work in my area.

On 08/14, I filled a request form addressed to the Ombudsman. Received an receipt number by email... not heard back yet.

Finally, yesterday I called USCIS again and was advised to talk to a tier 2 officer, I was transferred to one who told me... there's nothing new on my case and there's nothing they can do about it, nothing either about my expedite.

So yeah, that's actually why I am asking for people in Florida and/or Miami, to know if they did receive an appointment or not yet.

I didn’t file from Miami, but from panhandle region back in February, received biometrics notice about 2 weeks ago and got it done last week in New Orleans. As far as I know most ASC offices have just reopened or opening back up later this month. With everything going on in the country right now, 5-6 months doesn’t seem so unreasonable

Well I guess that's the beauty of subjectivity... Because with 32.5 bucks left on my bank accounts and 13 days after filing for an expedite, "unreasonable" is the only thing that comes to my mind

              I'm in a similar boat.

              PD: Feb 24th
              AOS application type: IR1
              ASC: Oakland Park (Fort Lauderdale)
Was originally scheduled for biometrics in late March few days before the shutdown. Nothing since then. When I call, they tell me to wait 90 day! Soo frustrating!

                  Hi there, coc_th13 , gonzalezceq

Anything new on any of your sides fellow filers?

Nothing on mine, no decision about my expedite yet (after 17 days) and no biometrics notice on record either.
My last hope is now with the ombudsman's office, they made an inquiry about my case on 08/18 , this morning they still had no reply from USCIS but hopefully in the next days...

                  Good luck again!!

I am thinking about checking the "reschedule" box on my original appointment letter and sending it back. I heard some people got it scheduled that way, however I don't want to be pushed back in the line again. Dilemma!

                          Hi all,

                          Any news at your end?
On my side, nothing. No biometrics yet, still no decision about the EXPEDITE filed on 08/06.

I sent a request to the senator's office today. Hopefully something will come out of it, because nothing on the Ombudsman's side after they contacted USCIS about my case on 08/19.

Mmesa No updates on my side. I did see someone on Reddit with my PD claiming to have gotten biometrics appointment at Oakland Park, FLL but only after pestering congressman for expedition.

                              Hey coc_th13

Indeed, I've been following Reddit as well! There was also a group of people from Orlando/Fort Lauderdale, with PDs in Feb & April, they did not get biometrics yet either...

Today I received a receipt from the Senator's office for my request, they apparently contacted USCIS about my case. We'll see if they're more successful than the Ombudsman's office.
It can take up to 6 weeks though, fingers crossed!
