Hello everyone. I am married to a US citizen and we were about to send our petition for my status adjustment to immigration when she received a phone call from her mother. Her father was diagnosed with cancer and there’s not too much that can be done to save his life. My wife is going to her home state for at least 2-3 months to help her mother with her father. I will not be going because I have a great job here in Florida thy is waiting for me. My question is, will this be a problem for my immigration case? What about if she stays even longer and has to get a job to maintain herself?

Shouldn’t really be a problem if you document all this to prove it to USCIS. Plus I’m guessing you’ll still have a lot of joint documents like bills, bank accounts, lease, car insurance, health insurance, pics etc etc. And you should visit her while she’s staying with her folks. All said and done, what matters is your ability to prove a bona fide marriage.
