  • Do i need to renew i-693

So i applied for Aos back in January, and in april got status of my application ready to schedule an interview, so decided to go and do the physical exam. Doctor told me is valid only for 60 days. That was on july 23. So at the end of this month will be 60 days. i was hoping i will get interview by then. Do i need to renew the exam?

As long as the medical was done after 60 days before you filed AOS (i.e. as long as it was done after November 2019 in your case), it remains valid for 2 years.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

You do not need to renew at this time. Civil Surgeon told us the same but i knew the correct procedure and reas the policy manual.

Both my children and spouse had their medical in May and their interview in end of August and passed.

Many doctors and lawyers say the same and all are wrong.

The only time it is valid for 60 days is when you do your medical before sending your I-485 package. If you do your medical and wait 61 days to send your I-485 in, then your medical is not valid.

Of course, the officer can request a new one if they suspect that your condition could be different, but they will issue an RFE for a new one.
